About Aqua Andy

Andy Chilcott runs Aqua Andy based out of Lane Cove. Eight years in the Royal Australian Air Force as an aircraft technician at Richmond came before this, and that background sets the standard. Aqua Andy started in 2023 following a number of years doing the same services with a local pool company. Now you can get the same service and reliability Andy is known for at a very competitive price.

Andy's focus is straightforward: take the complexity out of your swimming pool and make it easy to understand and hassle-free to operate. The right equipment, properly installed, which minimises pool maintenance, increases water quality and extends the swimming season - so you spend more time enjoying the pool and less time looking after it. Honesty, reliability and expertise on every job, with dependable service and a friendly smile.

Work covers the full pool stack. Equipment installations (heaters, pumps, filters, salt chlorinators) are the lead service, with brand-name kit from Astron, Zodiac, BWT, Pentair, Jandy, Waterco and Aquaheat. Green pool recoveries, acid washes and regular maintenance fill out the rest. Salt, chlorine, and freshwater (ionizer) pools are all covered, and yes, harbour-fed saltwater pools too if you have one.

Are you taking new regular maintenance clients?
Currently booked out for new regular cleans across the North Shore. The waitlist is open - call Andy on 0468 650 172 to get on it. One-off jobs (green pool recovery, acid wash, equipment installs, pressure testing) are all still available with normal turnaround.
What suburbs do you cover?
Lane Cove and the surrounding lower North Shore - Lane Cove North/West, Longueville, Riverview, Greenwich, Linley Point, Northwood, Hunters Hill, Woolwich, Henley, Gladesville, Chatswood, Artarmon, Willoughby, Naremburn, Crows Nest, Wollstonecraft, North Sydney and Cammeray. Not on the list? Call anyway - the van's probably already in your area.
Do you do hot tubs?
No. Pool spas (the kind built into the pool with a waterfall or spillway) are covered as part of the install. Standalone hot tubs and jacuzzis are outside Andy's scope.
Do you cover salt, chlorine and freshwater pools?
All three. Salt-chlorinated, traditional chlorine, and freshwater (ionizer) systems are all covered for installs and maintenance. Harbour-fed saltwater pools too if you're lucky enough to have one - Andy looks after a few in the Kirribilli area.
Are you licensed, insured and SWMS-prepared?
Yes. NSW Fair Trading Contractor Licence holder. Public liability covered. The licence number appears on every quote and invoice. Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) are also prepared per NSW WHS Regulation 2017 for every high-risk job - templates held for concrete pool construction and pool gas heater / heat pump installation. A job-specific SWMS is prepared and shared on request before any high-risk work starts on your property.
How much does a green pool recovery cost?
From $550 for most domestic pools. The work is drain or shock-treat depending on severity, scrub, balance the chemistry and restart the system. Most green pools turn around in two to three days. Andy will quote upfront after seeing photos or a quick site visit.
How long does a heater install take?
Typically three quarters of a day for a heat pump install - the unit landed, plumbed, electrically wired and commissioned. Brand-name kit, properly installed, fixed price quoted before the work starts.
What brands do you install?
Unlike pool shops that are tied to a single brand or supplier, Aqua Andy stays independent. The recommendation is always whichever brand and model genuinely fits your pool, your budget, and how you use it. Astron, Zodiac, BWT, Pentair, Jandy, Waterco and Aquaheat are all installed regularly.
How quickly can you respond?

What is pipe pressure testing?
If you suspect a leak in your pool plumbing, Andy hooks up a pressure-test rig, plugs the other end and watches the gauge. Most leaks are isolated within an hour. From $350, and free if booked alongside regular maintenance.
